Cloverleaf Elementary School offers an integrated preschool program serving students with and without disabilities between the ages of 3-5. The preschool has a staff of intervention specialists and classroom paraprofessionals -- plus related service-providers, including a speech and language pathologist, occupational therapist and physical therapist.

What do I do if I think my child may have a disability?

First, call the Cloverleaf Preschool Specialist at 330-302-0101 and be prepared to describe a little bit about your child. Second, you’ll need register your child and schedule a referral / screening appointment with a Cloverleaf staff member to determine if there appears to be sufficient evidence your child is struggling in some area(s) of development, including speech and language, fine motor, gross motor, vision, hearing, social/behavior, and/or functional pre-academics. Based on the screening, the team will determine if there is a suspicion of a disability and, if so, will proceed with recommending a more formal evaluation. If, after the evaluation process, your child is determined to be a student with a disability, it is possible your child could attend the program for free.

What if I’m interested in having my child participate in the program as a peer model?

Peer model screening takes place at Cloverleaf Elementary School each spring. During the screening, students will participate in a mock preschool day including free play, art, story time, music and movement, restroom, and direct assessments with classroom teachers.

A typical peer model must:
  • Be at least 3 years old by Aug. 1 the year of attendance ( Any child who turns 6 years old before Dec. 1 should attend Kindergarten)
  • Be fully potty-trained
  • Possess strong social and communication skills
  • Be able to follow directions and attend to tasks for five to seven minutes
  • Meet the established district criteria utilizing sections of the Assessment, Evaluation, Planning, Systems (AEPS) Level 1 (birth to 3 years) Curriculum Assessment

The Cloverleaf preschool program runs Monday through Thursday with morning (9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.) and afternoon sessions (1 p.m. to 3:40 p.m.). Students must attend all four days. Tuition is $1,155 for the school year, which is billed to families in three-month billing cycles. A payment of $385 is required prior to the first day of school. Families are billed the first Mondays of November and February to pay for the remaining six months.

Transportation for preschoolers is provided within the boundaries of the school district.

Interested parents should register their child for peer model screening at www.CloverleafLocal.org beginning in February of the current school year. Peer model screening registration is only for the screening event.
