Several Cloverleaf High School athletes and cross country coach Garth Gucker have been honored with awards from the Akron Touchdown Club.

Junior tennis player and state runner-up Emily Dunbar was named Girls Tennis Player of the Year. Junior Riley Freeland and senior Vanessa Rivera were honored as Akron-Area All-Stars in cross country. Senior volleyball player Samantha Flora and sophomore soccer player Alli Gray also received Akron-Area All-Star awards.

Gucker, who guided the girls cross country team to an eighth-place finish in last fall’s state finals, was named 2015 District Coach of the Year in cross country.
