Undefeated Colts are league champs

 
On Oct. 22, the Cloverleaf High School Academic Challenge team won the Summit County Academic Challenge League championship, going a perfect 4-0 on the evening.
 
In round one, the Colts posted an impressive win against Norton by a score of 525-100, then followed up by defeating Tallmadge 515-45. Cloverleaf completed the sweep by beating Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary in a double header 520-55 and 445-155.
 
Scoring for the evening was led by sophomore Brooks Powalie with 270 points; seniors Joseph Masarro and Grace Schmitt with 175 and 145 points, respectively; sophomore Abby Washinger with 95; and Sophomores Emily Winnicki and Joseph Charek with 30 points each.
 
Currently undefeated on the season, the Colts now have won their third-straight league championship.
 
The junior varsity team also had a great night with three wins to only one loss.
