Two Cloverleaf High School journalism students have won second place in the 2019 Stomp Out Suicide Student Video Contest sponsored by the Medina County Coalition for Suicide Prevention.

Seniors Maddie Boltz and Bailey Freeland created a video with a message to "Step Up to Stomp Out Suicide." Boltz and Freeland used their friends and creativity to find a message that would resonate with others.

"I was really impressed with the message and the quality of the editing done by Maddie and Bailey," CHS journalism teacher John Carmigiano said. "When I saw the final product, I knew they at least had a good shot to win.  At Cloverleaf, we are a little limited by the equipment we use to produce videos, but the girls really overcame any technical shortcomings through their message."

Boltz and Freeland will receive a $250 prize and be honored at the Medina County Share Cluster breakfast meeting at 8:30 a.m. on April 26 at Williams on the Lake in Medina.
