Homecoming 2016 is THIS WEEK!

Cloverleaf alumni and community members are invited to join students and their families in celebrating Homecoming 2016 with a bonfire on Sept. 15 and a pregame parade Sept. 16.

The bonfire will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 in the grassy area near the entrance to Gene Clark Stadium. Runners from the high school cross country team will deliver a ceremonial "torch" prior to the lighting of the fire. All Cloverleaf alumni, community members, current students of all ages, and their families are invited to the bonfire. However, all elementary and middle school students must be escorted by parents. The festivities will include a pep rally led by Cloverleaf High School cheerleaders, recognition of the high school football team, and music performed by members of the high school marching band. The middle school football team, middle school cheerleaders, and youth football players will be present, too.

Cloverleaf also invites former football players, cheerleaders and marching band members to take part in pregame and sideline activities when the Colts take on visiting Coventry High School in the homecoming football game, which kicks off at 7 p.m. Sept. 16.

Alumni members of the Cloverleaf High School marching band are asked to gather at the band room entrance at 6:15 p.m. to march to the stadium with the band. There they will join fellow alumni, the 2016 Homecoming Court, and current students for a pregame parade around the track beginning at 6:30 p.m.

After the parade, Colts alumni football players will be invited to stand in the Cloverleaf end zone during the first quarter of the game. At the start of the second quarter, alumni cheerleaders will be welcomed to the track in front of the home stands to join current cheerleaders in leading the crowd in the Cloverleaf fight song cheer.

Graduates and all those with ties to the school district are invited to come back to renew old friendships and celebrate being part of the Cloverleaf tradition. Homecoming events are being organized by Cloverleaf High School Student Council. Adviser Mollie Jarvis encourages fans to arrive at the game early to find a seat before the parade.
