Experience physics on April 27

Each year, Mr. Vaughn’s CHS Honors Physics students create exciting projects to explain physics concepts to elementary students. The demonstrations feature catapults, air cannons, rockets, lasers, robots and more. This year, the public is invited to a special free evening presentation of the projects from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 27, at Cloverleaf Elementary School.

These COSI-like science presentations benefit both the elementary school students who get to experience them and the high school students who have to demonstrate their knowledge of the subject matter by putting physics concepts into terms the younger students can understand.

“Research says the best way to learn something is to teach it,” Mr. Vaughn said, “and when teaching to elementary students, you can't hide behind big words; you have to know the concept inside and out.”

Cloverleaf Elementary School is located at 8337 Friendsville Road, Seville.
