Dakota Duncan named Top Scholar

The Medina County Schools Educational Service Center, in conjunction with FirstMerit Bank, sponsored the eighth-annual Top Scholars Recognition Dinner to honor a top student from each of Medina County’s high schools. Senior Dakota Duncan was named the 2014 Top Scholar from Cloverleaf.

These Top Scholars then honored a special school employee from their district who provided them with personal inspiration to achieve. Dakota selected CHS biology teacher Garth Gucker. It’s the fourth time Mr. Gucker has received the Inspiration Award.

The students, their parents, the Inspiration Award winners and school district representatives were treated to a “five-star” meal served by Chef Tony's award-winning Chef and Restaurant Management students from the Career Center. The May 1 event was held in The Center Café.

Following the meal, the Top Scholar and Inspiration Award winners received plaques recognizing their achievement.

Congratulations to Dakota and to Mr. Gucker!
