Lunchtime concert tour

On Tuesday, Cloverleaf Superintendent Daryl Kubilus made good on a campaign promise -- with a little help from long-time friend and Westfield Center resident Jim Carey.

Mr. Kubilus – a former high school band director and professional musician – was asked if he would play the Cloverleaf Alma Mater on his saxophone, if the community approved the district’s May 6 levy request. Mr. Kubilus said he’d not only play the alma mater, he’d do it standing on his head!

While he asked to be excused from the standing on his head part, Mr. Kubilus and Mr. Carey helped students celebrate the last full day of school with a lunchtime tour of Cloverleaf’s three buildings. Mr. Carey – a 1979 Cloverleaf grad and professional musician – joined Mr. Kubilus on a three-song set of “Mercy, Mercy,” “There Will Never Be Another You,” and the Cloverleaf Alma Mater.

Thanks to Mr. Carey and Mr. Kubilus for sharing their musical talents with Cloverleaf students and staff.
