Homecoming bonfire Oct. 22 -- Updated!

A homecoming tradition is coming back to Cloverleaf.

Cloverleaf alumni, community members, current students of all ages and their families are invited to a special homecoming bonfire celebration 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 22. The event will take place in the grassy area near the entrance to Gene Clark Stadium. Per Cloverleaf tradition, runners from the high school cross country team will deliver a ceremonial "torch" prior to the lighting of the bonfire.

The event will include a pep rally led by Cloverleaf High School cheerleaders and music performed by members of the Cloverleaf High School Marching Band. FirstMerit will sponsor a Treat Truck offering free hot chocolate and donuts.

All elementary and middle school students MUST BE ESCORTED BY PARENTS.

Cloverleaf also is in search of former homecoming queens to be honored in a stadium parade prior to kick-off of the homecoming football game when the Colts take on visiting Field High School on Oct. 23. Alumni who played football for Cloverleaf will be honored by being invited to stand in the Colts end zone during the first quarter of the game. At the beginning of the second quarter, all former Colts cheerleaders are invited to participate with current cheerleaders in leading the home crowd in the Cloverleaf fight song cheer.
