Marching Band qualifies for OMEA State Finals

The Cloverleaf Colts Marching Band continued a tradition of excellence Sept. 30 at the Avon Lake Band-A-Rama.

Under the direction of Andrew Winter, Assistant Director Megan Dougherty, Guard Instructor Ashley Peyton, Percussion Instructors Tyler Byrd and Brittney Hamrick, and Senior Field Commander Arielle Lusardo, the Cloverleaf Marching Band received a score of “1” which is a Superior rating. This rating means the Cloverleaf Marching Band has qualified for State Finals for a 36th consecutive year.

This year’s show is entitled “Breaking Boundaries.” The hard work and sacrifice put forth by the marching band did not go unnoticed by the judges. The band earned First Place in Class A -- including Superior ratings in Music, Visual Effect and General Effect.

There are many marchers and guard members who are looking forward to building on this accomplishment as they prepare for the Ohio Music Education Association State Finals, which will be held at Brunswick High School on Nov. 4.
