A new non-profit company created by Cloverleaf High School Junior Achievement students made its debut with a successful fundraiser during a Jan. 18 boys basketball game between the host Colts and league rival Norton.

Proceeds raised from basket raffles and a 50/50 raffle at the game will be distributed by the student-run enterprise, Double Play: A Cause Marketing Co., to benefit local heroin addiction recovery, United Way of Medina County, plus other causes and charities.

The mission of Double Play is to encourage one charitable organization to assist other charities, while connecting local businesses and non-profits through events, fundraisers and social media.  This benefits all of the involved groups and organizations as they reach larger audiences. When one of the charities is affected, it directly affects another, resulting in a “double play.”
