 Chronicle Telegram Scholarship

·         One scholarship

·         Must be a resident of Medina County

·         Must be a college junior or senior (Fall Semester 2012)

·         Must be a journalism major

·         Application is available at http://www.peoplewhocare.org/

·         Application deadline is ASAP

Delta Kappa Gamma Grant-in-Aid

·         Awards will range from $400 - $600

·         Must be a female

·         Must be a resident of Medina County

·         Must be a junior or senior in college (Fall Semester 2012)

·         Must be a Education major

·         Application is available in the high school guidance office

·         Must include a letter of recommendation from a high school counselor, college advisor, or college professor

·         Application must be mailed to:

·         Application deadline has been extended to May 15, 2012


George Sisler Memorial Scholarship

·         Four - $1,000 scholarships (two – baseball players; two – softball players)

·         Must reside in Medina, Portage, or Summit County

·         Must attend a four-year college or university

·         Must have participated in either varsity baseball or varsity softball during high school

·         Must show outstanding citizenship, demonstrate a role in bettering the community, and list academic and athletic achievements

·         Must provide an official transcript

·         Must provide two letters of recommendation

·         Application is available in the guidance office

·         Application must be mailed to:

·         Application must be received by May 21, 2012

B. Davis Scholarship

·         One - $1,000 scholarship

·         Must be a high school junior or senior, or a current college student

·         Must include your name, the school you are currently attending, and the name of the school you will attend next year

·         Must write an essay on the topic below:

Discuss, in less than 1,000 words, how your education has contributed to who you are today, or how it will affect who you will become.

·         Essay must be sent via email toawards@studentawardsearch.com

·         Essay must be submitted by May 28, 2012

 

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship

·         One - $1,000 scholarship to the winner(s)

·         Must be a high school junior or senior or a currently registered student at any accredited post secondary institution

·         Must write an 500 – 1,000 word essay on the topic:

“What was the most difficult time in your life and why? How did your perspective on life change as a result of this difficulty?”

·         Application is available at www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm

·         Application must be submitted by June 15, 2012

 

Big Sun Scholarship

·         One – $500 scholarship

·         Must be a high school senior or attending a post secondary institution

·         Must be a student athlete

·         Must write an essay response to the question, “How has your education contributed to who you are today? Why do you want to earn a college education?”

·         Application must be submitted online by June 22, 2012


Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship (Inaugural year)

·         Five – $1,000 scholarships

·         One scholarship is available for each of the five states: California, Florida, Illinois, Ohio, and Texas

·         Must be a high school senior

·         Must intend to pursue a fashion related field at an accredited postsecondary college/university

·         Must demonstrate academic success

·         Must have a passion and drive for a fashion related career

·         Application must be submitted online by July 31, 2012
